We're Bringing the Heat!
...and so is the Summer. God, it's brutal out here. If you're reading this, we hope you're not only surviving, but thriving. We're at the peak of the season, both literally and figuratively. Yet in the midst of all the chaos, we found time to be our creative and fun-loving selves. Here's a taste!

Real Band Names for Really Real Bands.
You voted - we listened. Here are our top two band names this month, from the random moments and conversations that take place within our team. We hope you entertain this series as much as it entertains us.. truly. This time, we were inspired by 60s Spanish Garage Rock - very groovy, very heroic.
Main Act: Heroine Chihuahua Opener: Clean Secret

Goodbye, Farewell to Our Interns.
The last six weeks with our interns have been some of the best we've had while introducing new creatives into our space. We celebrated their last day with individual presentations on how their time with us was (safe to say we had a healing experience from both ends).
These three gals reminded us why it's important to have programs like hands-on internships available to new generations of creatives. We challenged them with new projects, new responsibilities, and productive support along the way, and watched them bloom like the little bundles of pretty flowers they are.
"I’m so grateful for this opportunity. It was like an intensive residency but part-time and full of giggles." -Liz <3

Flexing Our T-Shirt Design Chops
It's so refreshing to put our creativity into practice in new ways. So when the Downtown Boise Association came to us in need of a new 2024 shirt design, we were pumped to put our heads together and come up with something unique and nostalgic that also promotes their dedication to connecting in our community.
Matt and Isabel collaborated on the design - pairing the DBA brand palette with funky characters, bringing a fresh look to their overall brand. Then, our interns Ari + Rachel ran a mini photoshoot and voila! We have some rad pics of a rad product. You can purchase this bad boy at Alive After Five on Wednesday, July 31st!

Happy 3 Years to the VK Stud(io)
Less than a month ago, Matt and Aaron brought it to our attention that Visionkit has officially been in our GC studio for 3 years 🎉 Naturally, we celebrated with birthday candles and cake (shoutout to the sheet cake at Trader Joe's - we love you).
The special occasion got us in our feels, and we decided to share ways we've celebrated life and the ability to enjoy the great outdoors. From brave backpacking adventures, to the pretty coast, to cheeky volleyball games, our team is having a good time both in and out of the studio.

VK Book Club, Anyone?
We're back with another book club feature! This month, our team is reading Nonviolent Communication by Marshall B Rosenberg, PhD. It's focused on learning how to communicate in a way that allows you to lead with empathy and compassion, which is something our world could always use more of.
We pride ourselves on being collaborators and partners first, and as humans we're always learning and improving. This read is a tool to continue growing as creatives in this space, partners to our clients and crew, and as teammates to each other.
